THE CLEAR CENTREPIECE OF OUR MENU
Our menu features a range of dishes from Viennese and Austrian cuisine, but the traditional Wiener Schnitzel made with veal sets the direction at Dom Schnitzel Stephansdom. A schnitzel does not need much presentation. What matters is the veal, the breading, the heat and that brief moment when they come together to create the light, golden crust you immediately recognise when cutting into it. Chicken schnitzel and our Schnitzel Duett add further choice without changing the focus of our kitchen.
FROM VEAL CREAM GOULASH TO KRAUTFLECKERL
The menu at Goldschmiedgasse deliberately goes beyond schnitzel. Alongside veal cream goulash with butter dumplings, Viennese Krautfleckerl, Käsespätzle and Styrian fried chicken salad, soups are also an established part of our kitchen.
Our house-recipe chicken soup remains a permanent item on the menu, while our seasonal soup changes regularly throughout the year according to the ingredients and seasons. Depending on the time of year, this might be asparagus soup, pumpkin soup, lentil soup or another seasonal variety. The seasonal soup is usually vegetarian. Please ask our service team which soup is currently being served.
The selection is completed by salads and classic side dishes such as Austrian potato salad and creamy cucumber salad.
SPACE IN THE HEART OF VIENNA
Three levels give this restaurant a different dimension from our smaller locations. Up to 170 guests can be accommodated across several different seating areas. This makes Dom Schnitzel Stephansdom equally suitable for lunch during a day in the city centre, a longer dinner, families, groups or an evening spent together. And as soon as you step outside, Stephansplatz is only a few metres away.
ACCESSIBLE RESTAURANT
A LIFT CONNECTING ALL LEVELS
Dom Schnitzel Stephansdom is also easily accessible for guests with limited mobility. A lift connects the ground floor with the upper floor and also provides access to the restroom facilities on the lower level.
This allows wheelchair users and guests for whom stairs may be difficult to comfortably access the different areas of our restaurant in Goldschmiedgasse.
THREE SWEET SIDES OF VIENNA
The menu ends on a sweet note: Kaiserschmarrn with warm plum compote, apple strudel with homemade vanilla sauce and our house-style Sacher torte with whipped cream.
The Kaiserschmarrn arrives warm and fluffy, the apple strudel stays true to its familiar combination of apple and vanilla, while the Sacher torte brings together chocolate and whipped cream. Three desserts, three different ways to finish a Wiener Schnitzel meal in Goldschmiedgasse.
Vegetarian and vegan guests will also find a carefully selected range of Austrian-inspired dishes at Dom Schnitzel.
Freshly prepared, light and balanced, and served with the same care as our Viennese classics.
Right in the heart of Vienna, just a few steps from St. Stephen’s Cathedral.
